MycoMedica BIO Hericium powder 100 g
BIO Hericium
100 g
With its 32 identified aromatic compounds, Hericium is a delicacy for discerning palates, delighting them with an exotic combination of seafood, lemon, and coconut aromas. In addition, this striking-looking mushroom is valued for its vital effects. Practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine particularly appreciate Hericium's ability to produce a harmonizing effect on physical and psychological processes. Now we offer Hericium in the form of mushroom powder (powder/biomass), in which the dried fruiting body of the mushroom is ground into a very fine powder using a special shellbroken method. This process disrupts the cell's chitin обол and releases the active compounds. Compared with the extract, this form has a gentler effect.
Tested at the German Agrolab.
Our Hericium is grown on an organic substrate. This substrate consists of a mixture of sawdust, organic wheat bran, cane sugar, and natural gypsum. We use fruiting bodies to produce our extracts.
Basic information
Hericium (Hericium erinaceus, or coral tooth fungus) has a delicate flavor and texture reminiscent of fish. It grows parasitically in clusters on damaged tree trunks or stumps. Hericium has a firm place in traditional Chinese medicine. According to this tradition, Hericium can balance the yin and yang in the entire organism. Free from natural substances, additives, and preservatives.
About Hericium
Hericium (coral tooth fungus, known in English as lion's mane, Hericium erinaceus) is an edible, stem-spored medicinal mushroom native to Asia and also widely found in North America. Hericium can occasionally be found here as well. The mushroom got its name from the unique shape of its fruiting body, which is spherical and branched and can reach a diameter of up to 30 cm.
The effect of Hericium on the production of NGF (nerve growth factor) is currently being studied. Like other medicinal mushrooms, Hericium is also rich in polysaccharides – beta-glucans, minerals, and trace elements; diterpenoids – hericenones and erinacines – are also specific to it. Other significant components of Hericium include palmitic acid, the sugar alcohol threitol, and D-arabinitol, as well as provitamin D2 and others. The concentration of polysaccharides in the extract is also important. Long-term testing has shown that 30% is optimal for therapeutic purposes. A lower concentration (10%) is less effective, while a higher concentration (40%) is always at the expense of other active compounds and leads to a shift in the effects of the particular mushroom.
Bioactive compounds
- Polysaccharides – β-1-3 and β-1-6-D glucans
- Sterols
- Vitamin B12 lactone
- Terpenic and phenolic compounds
- Alkaloids
- Amino acids
- Minerals
- Vitamins
Dosage
- 1–3 g daily, with a minimum interval of 30 minutes from meals; mix in approximately 1 dl of water and drink (1 level teaspoon = 2 g of powder).
- We recommend taking it 5 days a week and skipping 2 days.
- Take on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before a meal or 60 minutes after a meal).
- When taking medicinal mushrooms, we recommend increasing your intake of vitamin C, which improves the absorption of active compounds. For example, in the form of Brazilian cherry Acerola extract.
